剛好昨天課本裡有提到這句~今天就來補一下完整一點的解釋。
What are you up to?
裡面那個up to的意思跟"上面"或"上去"並沒有關係
這也是英文片語有趣的地方
up to在這邊的意思是 "接下來要做什麼" 或著 "現在在做什麼"
在一般情況下和What are you doing?差不多意思
所以當我們想問一個人他現在正在幹嘛的時候就可以用這句 "What are you up to?"
另一種情況，
當我們覺得這個人的行蹤有點可疑，不知道他到底想幹嘛的時候可以說
I wonder what he is up to. (I wonder what he's up to.)
"不知道他有什麼打算"、"不知道他在預謀什麼"
也就是說What are you up to也可以有 "你在搞什麼鬼?"的意思
再舉一個例子，
今天在學校碰到一位同學，他正往另一個方向走，想問他現在下課後是要去哪?要做什麼?
也可以用What are you up to?
